A few months ago, an individual approached me. Soon afterward, he asked me, “How do you like your 1986 Triumph?” Yes, I was impressed; However, Gary’s Auto-Repair should be the people who were impressed. Anyway, I informed the individual of my car’s age, 13 years, as well as the age of the automobile’s paint job, almost 3 years! Yes, it looks simply smashing, no pun intended.

Thank you for supporting the 18th Annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner. It was a hug success. Seven hundred people were in attendance. It’s concerned business people like yourself who make it possible, and every year it gets bigger and better. Thanks to your generous contribution to Project RAD (Riverside Against Drugs), our Silent Auction and Dinner Dance held at Volvo of Riverside on Saturday, October 9th, was an overwhelming success. Over $27,000 was raised in response to our request to support this program.

Project RAD provides the young people of Riverside the opportunity to live productive, drug free lives through a dynamic educational curriculum which is now used in all secondary, and some elementary, school campuses. The community support has helped to ensure that a comprehensive and effective drug prevention program is in place in Riverside. Project RAD, in its seventh year, represents the combined efforts of the City of Riverside, the Riverside Police Department, The Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce, the Alvord Unified School District and the Riverside Unified School District.

RAD has been recognized as a model program by both the State of California and the Western Center for Drug Free Schools and has received a third round of funding from the state, something no other drug prevention program in the State of California has accomplished.

Again, thank you for your contribution to Project RAD and I look forward to your support again next year.
